Pre and Post-Trip Inspections



Course Description

This course is designed to inform participants about vehicle inspection, repair, and maintenance standards that are critical to the safe operation of commercial motor vehicles. It is designed to reduce accidents, injuries, and fatalities resulting from unsafe vehicles operation on the highway, as well as the reduction of major repair costs, downtime and fines. Participant will learn how to ensure that the truck they are driving is safe and fit before taking in onto the road.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the purpose of pre-trip & post-trip inspections
  • Identify operating and regulatory compliance issues as delineated in the National Safety Code’s Standard 13;
  • Know how to examine the vehicle before a trip
  • Learn how to identify defects in the power train, frame, suspension, steering, brakes, wheels, tires, body and glass
