Dangerous Goods Certification (TDG)



Course Description

Both federal and provincial regulations require that any person involved in the handling and offering of transport of dangerous goods, or transporting of dangerous goods, be trained and certified.


ABS SafeCom issue registered transport goods certificates for truck driver, supervisor, for specific portions of the act & its regulations for safety & compliance management service offers in Mississauga (Ontario). Also provide the course to understand the deep level of transport goods service.

TDG legislation/regulations & emergency procedures and Carrier, driver & shipper responsibilities.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the purpose, structure and functions of Transportation of Dangerous Goods legislation regulations
  • Know the Carrier, driver & shipper responsibilities
  • Know about Loading, securing and transporting safely
  • Know the nine (9) classes of dangerous goods
  • Explain the identification of labels and placards
  • Use Schedule (1) to (7) and use UN Approved Packaging
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of label and placard identification, as well as how to use a dangerous goods handbook and checklists
  • Explain emergency response procedures and contacts
  • Understand when an Emergency Response Action plan (ERAP) is required
  • Understand Transporting and the shipping documents that reveal shipping name, primary classification and UN number of each product
